Circa 1924-1930.
This very early and rare timepiece from the Hamilton ladies geometric collection called the Decagon featuring an engraved 14K solid white gold hinged case accompanied by blued steel poires style hands that are true to form. The engravings on the top and mid sections of this unique watch look sharp and so does the enamel numeral dial. This would have been regarded to as a "large" ladies sized watch considering that most ladies watches at the time used smaller grade movements such as the 989 and 757. This particular wristwatch is the earlier version of the Decagon powered by a 986A movement that has been cleaned, oiled, and timed for 24 hours. Serial on movement is 2168284 which dates this watch to circa 1926. Later in 1929 the Hamilton Decagon came fitted with grade 987 movements that allowed for a subsecond chapter. The watch includes a brand new acrylic crystal and brand new lizard straps in black. The inside back case reads: Hamilton Watch Co., 14K, 149654, Lancaster, PA. Case measurements are approximately 27mm (excluding the crown) x 30mm from lug end to end.
