Grandpa's Old Watch
A TIMEPIECE THAT LIVES ON
Grandpa always had a favorite watch (or two) he would wear every day for many years. There was also the long story associated with the timepiece about where it was purchased and how long he had to save up for it. These watches were usually a special treat for himself, a presentation gift from an employer, military issued, or a gift from his sweetheart. Grandpa's watch was very special to him and he wanted to make sure that it was passed down to generations ahead.
Whatever his story may be, this is where you might find Grandpa's old watch.
Please note that Grandpa's watches have not been serviced unless noted otherwise in the description.

I have been collecting watches for nearly 40 years. I have decided to start selling my watches and let someone else enjoy them. I am not a dealer, I am just a collector. I love everything about watches, from the design of the cases, movements, lugs, dial designs, colors and of course why and how they matched hands to the watch itself.
I have always been interested in mechanical things and how different things work. To think that most of these old vintage watches were made from the early 1900’s thru the 1970’s just blows me away on how they were made. How they made these super small screws, parts, dials, hands, gears, movements with the technology 100 years ago.
To think in 1485 Leonardo Da Vinci sketched a Fusee for a clock, 1504 Peter Henlein invents the first pocket watch, 1880 Girard Perregaux developed the concept of wristwatches for German Naval officers, the first electric watch by Hamilton Watch Company came on the market in 1957, quartz/LED watches in the 1960s to the automatic Chronographs with the R&D combined by Hamilton/Breitling and Tag Heuer the 1970s.
Enjoy the site, and happy hunting.
