Circa 1959-1960.
Here we have a rare vintage electric Hamilton Regulus featuring a stainless steel case with white embossed numerals and markers with a pearled track. One of Hamilton's astonishing asymmetric models, the case is a unique half-square, half-round shape. The watch is quadruple signed by Hamilton visible on the dial, crown, case, and movement. The watch measures approximately 30mm wide x 40mm from lug end to lug end and has been fitted with a brand new acrylic hi-dome crystal. The adjusted Hamilton 500 electrical movement includes a brand new Energizer battery and kept good time over a 24 hour period. The watch sets and winds smoothly with the hack function fully operational whenever the crown is pulled or depressed. The inner case is marked: Hamilton Watch. Co., Lancaster PA, Stainless Steel, P003725, Star W.C. Co while on the outside it reads: Hamilton, Waterproof, Shock-Resistant, Stainless Steel, Adjusted. As with this and all other vintage watches that are advertised as waterproof, the seals and gaskets may have aged with time and most likely are no longer functional. It it not recommended to subject the timepiece to any waterproofing tests.
