This marvelous 10K white gold-filled Hamilton Merritt features a refinished black enamel dial and lozenge blued steel hands. Hamilton catalogs show the Merritt as being only available in yellow gold-filled but Hamilton did make a handful of white gold-filled versions as seen here. Hamilton production records show that only 698 Merritt models were made in white and 7486 were made in yellow. The case and dial look sharp on this timepiece fitted with a brand new glass crystal. Resting beneath the dial is a 6/0 sized grade 987 manual hand winding movement with 17 jewels that has been serviced and kept good time over a 24 hour period. The watch is signed Hamilton on the case, movement, and dial. The back case snaps tightly with a nice seal and reads: Hamilton W. Co., Lancaster PA., 10K gold filled, S655753 on the inside. This watch sets and winds smoothly and runs strong. Case measurements are approximately 28mm in width (excluding the crown) x 39mm from lug end to lug end
