Featured here is a vintage Hamilton Sentinel in a 10K gold-filled case with an enamel dial with Roman numerals and blued steel hands. The Sentinel is the first model to use the 987S movement which showcases a sweeping seconds hand and hacking feature whenver the crown was pulled out to the setting position. Produced for only two years, this particular dial is seldom seen as after WWII the model was changed to an applied gold dial version and was named the Secometer. Powering this watch is a grade 987S manual hand winding movement with 17 jewels that has been serviced and kept good time over a 24 hour period. The case looks sharp in this example and measures approximately 29mm wide x 36mm in overall length. The inside back case reads: Hamilton W. Co., lancaster PA., 10K Goldfilled, 874397. Included is a new crocograin strap in blue and a new acrylic crystal.
