Here we have a vintage Hamilton Alarm D with an 18K gold electroplate bezel and stainless steel back featuring a brushed silver dial with gold markers and numerals at 12, 3, 6, and 9. This watch sets and winds smoothly and the alarm function works perfectly. Rotating the crown one way winds the watch while winding it in the other direction will power up the alarm. To set the alarm, simply depress the alarm button adjacent to the 2:00 marker and use the crown to rotate the fourth hand with the arrow tip to the desired time. Push in on the crown to actuate the alarm ON function and when the minute and hour hands reach the desired alarm time, the ringing will begin as the hammer in the movement strikes the post attached to the body of the snap back case. To turn off and silence the alarm, simply press on the alarm button. Beneath the dial is a genuine Hamilton 642 manual hand winding movement with 17 jewels that has been recently serviced and kept great time over a 24 hour period. This watch measures approximately 34mm wide x 38mm from lug end to lug end.
