Circa 1940-1941.
This was Hamilton's first stainless steel watch called the Lexington and was produced for only 1 year. Production of this watch stopped at the beginning of WWII due to a shortage of stainless steel. Measuring at approximately 28mm wide x 35mm in length, this vintage Lexington features a exquisite black refinished dial with contrasting white numerals, minute track, and matching white hands. Although the watch case is round, the movement underneath the dial is a rectangular grade 980 manual hand winding movement with 17 jewels. Recently serviced and keeping good time over a 24 hour period, this Lexington sets and winds smoothly. A new glass crystal and new genuine alligator calf straps are included with this stunning timepiece. The inside of the snapback case reads: Hamilton Watch Company, Lancaster PA., Wadsworth, H477173.
