Circa 1941.
This was Hamilton's first stainless steel watch called the Lexington and was produced for only 1 year. Production of this watch stopped at the beginning of WWII due to a shortage of stainless steel. Measuring at approximately 28mm wide x 35mm in length, this vintage Lexington features a refinished black dial with easy to read contrasting white hands, numerals, and minute track. Although the watch case is round, the movement underneath the dial is a rectangular grade 980 manual hand winding movement with 17 jewels that has recently been serviced and kept good time over a 24 hour period. This fine wristwatch sets and winds smoothly. The inside of the snapback case reads: Hamilton Watch Company, Lancaster PA., Wadsworth, H486145.
