This is a unique vintage Hamilton Day 'N Date 6004 featuring a 14K gold electroplate bezel and stainless steel back with a marker dial and a day/date window at 6 o'clock. What's interesting about this particular display is that there is a numeral next to each day that denotes the day of the week (1-7). Hamilton catalogs show the Fontainebleau with only a date window while the Day 'N Date 6004 has the day and date window but no number for the day of the week. Both sides of the bezel have a textured pinstripe pattern that run from the tip lugs all the way down to the bottom lugs. The watch sets and winds smoothly and includes an original band for this model. Powering this watch is a Hamilton 66 calibre automatic movement with 17 jewels that runs strong and kept good time over a 24 hour period. The outside back case is embossed with the Fontainebleau insignia and reads: Stainless Steel Back, Pat. + No. 453.220, 66002-4. The inside back case reads: Hamilton Watch Co. Swiss 1712772. Case measurements are approximately 40mm wide (excluding the crown) x 35mm from lug end to lug end.
