Circa 1960-1962.
Here is another asymmetric mechanical watch produced by Hamilton called a Hamilton Flight II with its space age designed case and honeycomb styled lugs. Both the Flight I and Flight II are hard to come by and very collectable by all watch collectors, not just Hamilton enthusiasts. This timepiece features a gilt dial and Dauphine hands that are true to form. The honeycomb styled lugs give it a "forward look" which was meant to imply motion. There are mild imperfections on the case where the top bar has a slight bend and the honeycomb texture towards the top right hand side is worn. The asking price is relatively lower than the current market value taking these flaws into consideration. Powering the watch is a high grade 770 manual hand winding movement with 22 jewels that has been serviced and kept good time over a 24 hour period. The watch sets and winds smoothly and has been fitted with a new acrylic crystal. The inside back case reads: Hamilton W. Co., Lancaster PA., 10K GoldFilled, P604911, Star W.C. Co. The watch measures approximately 33mm at the widest point x 34mm in overall length.
