First released on January 3, 1957, the Ventura was the world's first battery-powered watch, and it remains one of the most popular watch styles even after 60+ years. Venturas have always been sought-after among collectors, but in recent years they have become extremely hard to find. This asymmetric watch is in nearly mint condition, with a 500 electric movement and fresh battery included. The 14K yellow solid gold case is in superb condition with only minor scratches seen when magnified and the lugs look sharp with limited wear. The 14K gold dots look stunning against the black NOS dial and the Dauphine style hands and red tipped sweep seconds hand are all true to form. The acrylic crystal is newly installed and the hack function is fully operational. The crown is original to the watch and it is signed with the Hamilton “H”. This Ventura case was manufactured by S&W and reads: Hamilton W. Co., Lancaster PA, 14K Gold, S039331, S&W. The case measures approximately 31mm wide (excluding the crown) x 45.5mm from lug end to lug end.
