Circa 1931-1934.
Introduced in 1931, this beautiful vintage Hamilton Cushion B features the rare "aviation dial" accompanied by new blued steel hands that have been freshly lumed. In the early 1920s when the 6/0 sized movements were introduced, the original cushion models came without a sub-second chapter with a round viewing window. Years later, Hamilton released a version where the bezel was shaped like a cushion. The cushion model that followed after that was shaped like a cushion all around but the middle section of the case was larger than the top bezel and back case. In 1931 the first cushion B was born featuring a cushion shaped case with a round viewing window (similar to the first model) except the cushion B had a sub-second chapter at 6 o'clock. This stunning timepiece has the "aviation dial" that resembles an airplane's instrument cluster with a newly fitted acrylic crystal and brand new alligator calf straps in brown. The watch sets and winds smoothly and is powered by a grade 987-F manual hand winding movement with 17 jewels that has been cleaned, oiled, and timed for 24 hours. There is visible wear on the top bezel corners, lug tips, and at both top and bottom opening notches as seen in the photos but overall this watch cleaned up nicely and shows really well. The inside case is marked: H, 6/0, Wadsworth, Quality 14 Karat GoldFilled, 0574690
