Circa 1965-1966.
Up for sale is this vintage electric Hamilton Centaur in a 10K yellow gold-filled case featuring a Romanesque / cross-hatched patterned bezel and sterling silver dial with applied gold dots and markers. The gold baton hands are true to form as is the sweeping seconds. The dial looks great with very mild patina spots and the case has very light scratches seen when magnified. This watch measures approximately 28mm wide x 34mm in overall length and comes with a fresh new battery. Powering this watch is a genuine Hamilton 505 electric movement that kept good time over a 24 hour period. The hack function on this watch is a little sensitive in the sense that pushing down on the crown requires a gentle shake for the watch to resume running after setting the time. This is fairly prevalent with the 500 series electric movements but only a handful of the 505 model electric movements have this anomaly and this is one such movement. The inside back case reads: Hamilton W. Co., Lancaster PA., 10K Goldfilled, R807451, Star W.C. Co., 893265.
