Circa 1928-1929.
Presented here is a vintage timepiece called the Chieftain by The Illinois Watch Company featuring a barrel-shaped two tone luminous dial, luminous skeleton hands, and a sub-second chapter at the 9:00 marker. The Chieftain is a great model as it combines Art Deco and Indian motifs in one design. The watch sets and winds smoothly and measures approximately 28mm wide (excluding the crown) x 33mm from lug end to lug end. Beneath the dial is a grade 905 manual hand winding movement with 17 jewels that has been cleaned, oiled, and timed for 24 hours. The inside back case reads: Illinois Watch, Special Model 163, Fahys 14K goldfilled, 642750.
