Circa 1909-1910.
A fine example of Hamilton's early strap watches for men is this stunning 0-size Cushion model in a Fahys Montauk 14K goldfilled hunter's case showcasing a porcelain dial and spring bar lugs as opposed to the typical "wire lugs" found in most early cushion 0 size trench watches. The porcelain dial looks beautiful with correct spade style hands. The onion crown sets and winds smoothly on this wonderful 0-size masterpiece that measures approximately 32mm wide (excluding the crown) x 39mm from lug end to lug end. Powering this watch is an adjusted 0-size 983 manual hand winding movement with 17 jewels that has been cleaned, oiled, and timed for 24 hours. This nickel bridge movement features a reed regulator, ruby and sapphire jewels, Breguet hairspring, and adjustments to both temperature and isochronism. Serial on movement: 1255019 dates this Model 1 movement to about 1909-1910 with a production timespan of 2 years. There are only light scratches on the case and on the inside of the snap back it reads: FAHYS, Montauk, Quality 277269.
