Circa 1961-1964.
The Hamilton Savitar is a rare vintage mid-century wristwatch released in June 1961 as the feature watch for the Caliber 505 movement debut, showcasing a 14K solid yellow gold triangular case with a round dial and an estimated production of around 2,700 pieces. Engineered with striking, "floating" lug posts and an offset crown dynamically positioned at 4 o'clock, this asymmetrical model has a distinctive, irregular triangular case featuring an avant-garde layout with reeding details around the crystal. Powering this watch is an adjusted Hamilton electric 505 movement with a fresh battery that was bench timed for 24 hours and kept good time. This timepiece is quadruple signed as seen on the dial, crown, movement and case. The inside back case is marked: Hamilton W. Co., Lancaster P.A., 14K Gold, P491079, Star W.C. Co. Case measurements are approximately 30mm wide x 36mm in overall length.
