Circa 1959-1962.
Featured here is a vintage Hamilton Thin-O-Matic T-401 in an 18K solid gold case with 14K gold numerals, arrow markers, and a pearled track on a sterling silver dial. The Hamilton Thin-O-Matic T-101 is a rare vintage timepiece known for its ultra-slim profile made possible by an innovative micro-rotor automatic movement thus eliminating the bulk of a traditional center-mounted rotor, keeping the case exceptionally thin. Powering this watch is a micro-rotor Hamilton grade 666 automatic hand wind movement with 17 jewels that has been recently serviced and kept good time over a 24 hour period. The watch sets and winds smoothly and measures approximately 34mm wide x 38mm in overall length. The inside back case reads: Hamilton W. Co., Lancaster PA., B80020, 18K. Solid 18K Thin-O-Matic models are quite scarce therefore surviving examples in good condition command significant premiums in the vintage collectors' market compared to their gold-filled counterparts.
