As part of the Explorer series, this Hamilton Byrd features the rare 401 movement and showcases a handmade 14K solid gold case. According to Hamilton production records, only 285 were made in the yellow and 331 were made in white. The watch sets and winds smoothly and beneath the dial is a grade 401 manual hand winding movement with 19 jewels that has been serviced and kept good time over a 24 hour period. The inside of the back case reads: Hamilton Watch Co., Lancaster PA., 14K, B-5498. The case measures approximately 26mm wide (excluding the crown) x 39mm from lug end to lug end.
