Circa 1937-1939.
A rarely seen model, this visually stunning timepiece called the Hamilton Bentley was produced for only 2 years and only came in a 14K natural solid gold case. The exquisitely refinished sterling silver dial features 18K applied gold numerals and a black enamel minute and subchapter track. Gold tone feuille (leaf) style hands that are correct for the model. The signed rectangular case with large, looping tube lugs measures approximately 25mm wide (at the widest point) x 39mm in overall length. Powering this watch is a grade 982 manual hand winding movement with 19 jewels that has been cleaned, oiled, and timed for 24 hours. The crown winds and sets smoothly and included is a new glass crystal and Hamilton straps with a 14K gold tang buckle. This is a beautiful watch with very light scratches on the case seen when magnified. The bezel and hoops are immaculate with no signs of wear or brassing. The inside of the S&W case reads: Hamilton W. Co., 14K, Lancaster PA., 340860.
