Circa 1935-1939.
This is a beautiful example of a vintage Hamilton Sherwood (which was also called a Seneca when first released in 1935) in a 14K natural solid gold case with an applied gold numeral dial in excellent condition. The case looks sharp and the unique stepped sides on the bezel give this timepiece a nice Art Deco appearance that was widely popular during this era. The watch sets and winds smoothly and has been fitted with a new glass crystal. Powering this timepiece is a 14/0 size 982 manual hand winding movement with 19 jewels that has been cleaned, oiled, and timed for 24 hours. The inside back case reads: Wadsworth, 14K Solid Gold, Pend't Pat'd 5-3-27, 02125. The watch measures approximately 21mm wide (excluding the crown) x 37mm from lug end to lug end. This is truly an impressive Hamilton Sherwood a.k.a Seneca with no personal engravings, no brassing, and low serial numbers
