Circa 1971-1975.
Here we have another vintage Hamilton Chronomatic A featuring a stainless steel case, black/white dial, 2 registers, and a 1/5 sec. recorder track. This chronomatic dial, often referred to as the "panda dial," is in great condition with a start & stop push button located on the upper right side of the case and a reset button below. Interestingly enough, the crown is on the left side of the case - something never before seen on Hamilton watches prior to the release of the Chronomatic series. Housed in the stainless steel case is a Caliber 11 automatic chronograph movement with 17 jewels the runs strong and kept excellent time over a 24 hour period. The Caliber 11 movement is the earliest of automatic chronograph movements and end product by a collaboration between joint venture partners Heuer, Hamilton-Buren, Dubois-Depraz and Breitling back in 1969. The inside back case reads Hamilton Watch Co. Swiss and the watch is quadruple signed by Hamilton as seen on the case, movement, crown, and dial. This watch measures approximately 36mm wide (excluding the crown) x 41mm from lug end to lug end and comes fitted with brand new genuine leather straps in black with red stitching.
